In an effort to keep my business contacts up to date on the latest developments in the world of small business marketing, I send out a printed newsletter every month featuring tips, news stories, and updates about my business. This is the online version of the newsletter for October of 2016.
Essential Elements of a Terrible Small Business Ad
In my newsletter for October, I featured an article about the five essential elements of a terrible small business ad, which originally appeared as a guest blog post on the Duct Tape Marketing blog. New Book Explains Local SEO In-depth
My friend and coauthor of The Small Business Owner’s Guide to Local Lead Generation, Phil Singleton, has released a new book about search engine optimization that he co-authored with John Jantsch. It’s called SEO for Growth, and it’s jam-packed with great content that explains this difficult-to-understand subject in a way that even non-technical people can understand.
You can visit the book’s website to learn more about it, or click here to listen to my podcast interview with Phil.
Duct Tape Marketing Heads West for Annual Summit
The third week of October, I’ll be heading out to Phoenix for the annual gathering of Duct Tape Marketing Consultants from around the world. It’s always a great time to catch up with friends, but it’s also an amazing education opportunity.
Not only is there three days packed with seminars and workshops about small business marketing, there is also a bonus day in which we bring in an outside expert to teach us about a topic that is “hot” in the marketing industry. This year, the expert is Jon Loomer, one of the top experts in the world in Facebook advertising.
I can’t wait to learn all about this valuable topic from Jon so I can start helping my clients with Facebook advertising campaigns when I get back!
